Final Design "The broken Shell" Tyra Anthony
RATIONAL
As for the poaching of sea turtles has been illegal to kill them, by choosing this topic made me think of the cruelty of animals also being hunt and sale for money that we us people don't that they are living creatures like us finding a way to live and survive.
I choose sea turtles to show the cruelty and how in my own eyes i see the are a broken shell finding its way back home, for the two artists I have chosen Vincent van Gogh and Escher to make understand my own techniques mix with them.
As for Vincent the line and cross hatching in my final he uses colors to show follow in his paintings but i went with black and white that is more powerful on its own as for the other artists Escher the pattern repetition as on the shell of the turtle and the lines that creates an illusion of it being repeated.
For my final from the start i wanted to do free hand by developing my skills in drawing and cross hatching I wanted to try something new pushing myself to my max to show my ability i also didn't want to do in colors also at first was having second doubts but then i went with it
In the drawing itself we can see movements, repetition, and rhythm also that also gives a texture effect with the cross hatching.
FINAL REFLECTIONS
What have I learnt in this module?
Throughout this module I have understand many things that i didn't know before the simple things are also important design principle is important in the world of art and design which makes your work or design have balance and look more effective.
What did I enjoy the most?
I enjoyed every seven weeks that i had in design principles class while also having a great lecturer it is fascinating with the ideas and works that you are coming up with that give the motivation does more than your ability by also developing your skills.
What have I learnt about myself through this module?
To be honest seven weeks was not that enough to develop more of my skills and improve more of it, but it went by quick but i have capture something at the end.
What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
This module has made me develop my drawing skills and made me realized that there is not just design there is also art free hand also not everything digital developing my skills of drawing made me believe in myself different medium and techniques also count.
What could be improved in this module?
As for improve is the instructions and lecture prerecorded is good, but it would be must better if it faces to face with the student as can get a more understanding.
The broken shell theme is great! I don't see any issues with composition or ideas. But I think time was a factor and maybe limited for you to further develop your work. I have to admit that you are a gifted and talented person but you also need to manage your time better so your talents in your work is better invested. The final work could have gone further. Great idea, theme, composition but feels unfinished.
